Studio Policies

Please review these guidelines before attending a class, private lesson, Studio Pass session, camp, or group event at Knoxville Art Studio. The reservation terms shown during booking apply to the specific service you purchase.

Booking, cancellations, and rescheduling

Advance booking is required because the studio operates by appointment. Review the cancellation, transfer, refund, and rescheduling terms shown at checkout. Contact the studio as early as possible if plans change. If Knoxville Art Studio cancels a session, affected students will be offered an appropriate rescheduling or refund option.

Arrival and pickup

Arrive on time so instruction can begin as scheduled. The studio is located behind the residence at 6859 Harvest Grove Lane; follow the right-side sidewalk to the back. Parents and guardians are responsible for timely pickup of minors.

Clothing, materials, and safety

Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes when appropriate, and choose clothes that may get paint, clay, glaze, or other art materials on them. Follow all instructor directions for tools, equipment, kilns, clay, paint, and studio materials. Tell the studio before class about relevant allergies, sensitivities, accessibility needs, or other concerns that may affect safe participation.

Pottery firing and completed work

Unless a class or workshop specifically states otherwise, pottery firing and glazing are separate from the class booking. Firing time depends on kiln availability and the condition of the work. Pieces must be fully dry and structurally sound; unusually large, thick, hollow, or risky pieces may need special handling, additional charges, or may be declined. Students will be notified when work is ready for pickup.

Studio Pass use

Studio Passes are recurring monthly memberships. Benefits differ by plan. A pass includes only the classes, sessions, materials, discounts, or open-studio access specifically listed in that plan. Attendance and independent studio time remain subject to studio hours, availability, and scheduling.

Respectful studio conduct

Knoxville Art Studio is a shared learning environment. Treat instructors, students, artwork, equipment, and the studio space with care. Unsafe, disruptive, discriminatory, threatening, or destructive behavior may result in a participant being asked to leave.

Photos and student artwork

Student work or class photographs will be shared publicly only when appropriate permission has been received. Contact the studio if you have questions about photography or how artwork may be displayed.
