1. What is Knoxville Art Studio?
Knoxville Art Studio (KAS) is a creative learning space in Knoxville, Tennessee, offering art classes for kids, teens, and adults. We provide instruction in painting, drawing, pottery, sculpture, and mixed media — helping students of all ages explore their creativity in a welcoming and inspiring environment.

3. Who teaches the classes?
Classes are taught by Professor Elena Sonbok McMillan, an award-winning artist and educator with over 30 years of experience in art instruction and creative development, supported by qualified teaching assistants.
4. What makes Knoxville Art Studio different from other art schools?
KAS focuses on creativity, confidence, and connection. Students can choose their own medium (acrylic, watercolor, oil, sculpting, etc.), enjoy small class sizes, and experience hands-on guidance in a calm, inspiring studio setting.

6. Can I choose what I learn in class?
Yes! One of the unique benefits of Knoxville Art Studio is that you choose your creative path. Each student can work in their preferred medium — such as acrylic, watercolor, oil, drawing, or sculpting — under personalized instructor guidance.
7. How long are your art classes?
Most classes are 120 minutes (2 hours), allowing plenty of time for instruction, creativity, and cleanup.
8. How much do classes cost?
Adult Studio Art Classes: $40 per person (materials included)
Adult Pottery Classes: $65 per person (materials included)
Kids & Teen Art Classes: $30 per person (materials included)
Private Lessons: $65 per session (materials included)
9. Are materials included in the class fee?
Yes! All art supplies are included unless otherwise noted. Just bring your creativity — we provide everything else.
10. Do I need any experience to take a class?
No experience is needed! Knoxville Art Studio welcomes all levels — from absolute beginners to advanced artists seeking to refine their skills.
11. What age groups do you teach?
We offer art programs for all ages:
Kids: 6–12
Teens: 13–17
Adults: 18+
Pottery & Clay Classes
12. Do you offer pottery classes in Knoxville?
Yes! Our Adult Pottery and Kids & Teen Pottery classes are among our most popular offerings. Students learn wheel throwing, hand-building, and glazing in a fun, supportive environment.
13. What is included in the pottery class?
All tools, clay, glazes, and firing are included. You’ll create and glaze your own finished piece to take home.
14. Do I need prior experience to take pottery classes?
Not at all! Both beginners and experienced potters are welcome — our instructors provide step-by-step guidance.
15. How long does it take for pottery pieces to be ready?
Pottery pieces typically take 1–2 weeks to be dried, fired, and glazed before pickup. We’ll notify you when your artwork is ready.
Private Lessons
16. What happens in a private art lesson?
Private lessons provide one-on-one instruction with Professor Elena McMillan, customized to your goals — whether it’s painting, drawing, mixed media, or portfolio preparation.
17. How do I schedule a private lesson?

18. Can two people share a private lesson?
Yes! Semi-private sessions can be arranged for small groups (2–3 students). Please contact us for pricing and scheduling options.
Creative Wellness & Art Therapy
19. Do you offer art therapy sessions?
Yes. Knoxville Art Studio offers art therapy and creative wellness sessions led by Professor Elena McMillan, who is trained in art therapy techniques. These sessions help with emotional expression, mindfulness, and personal growth.
20. Are art therapy sessions confidential?
Yes, all creative wellness sessions are private and conducted in a supportive, safe, and confidential setting.
Booking & Policies
21. How do I book a class?
Booking is easy! Visit our Classes or Schedule page, select your preferred class, and complete payment online. You’ll receive a confirmation email right away.
22. Can I reschedule or cancel my booking?
Yes — you may reschedule or cancel up to 48 hours before your scheduled class for a full refund or credit.
Cancellations made within 24 hours are non-refundable.
23. What if I can’t attend a class I booked?
You may transfer your spot to a friend or family member by notifying us in advance.
24. What happens if the studio cancels a class?
If Knoxville Art Studio cancels due to low enrollment or instructor availability, you’ll be offered a full refund or a reschedule option.
25. What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards and debit cards through our secure online booking system (Stripe).
Class Experience & Studio Environment
26. How big are the classes?
Most classes have 4–8 students, allowing for personalized instruction and individual attention.
27. What should I wear to class?
Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy — creativity can get colorful! Aprons are provided for most classes.
28. Is Knoxville Art Studio beginner-friendly?
Absolutely! Every class is designed to be inclusive, supportive, and encouraging for beginners and returning artists alike.
29. Do you offer group or corporate events?
Yes! We offer private group events, Paint & Bite Nights, and team-building workshops. Contact us to customize your experience.
30. Can I host a birthday or special event at the studio?
Yes — Knoxville Art Studio hosts creative birthday parties, girls’ nights, and custom art events. Reach out to book your date!
Policies & Safety
31. What is your refund policy?
You may cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before your class for a full refund or credit.
Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable.
32. Do you have a waiver or liability policy?
Yes. By attending any class, you agree to our Waiver of Liability, acknowledging that art and pottery activities carry minimal risks (like working with clay, paint, or tools). Participants assume responsibility for personal safety while in the studio.
33. What safety measures do you have in place?
Our studio is clean, ventilated, and equipped with safety tools. Instructors guide all students through safe handling of materials.
